Tapping for Emotional Freedom

EFTEFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) was developed by Gary Craig, and is designed for use by professionals in the field of psychology, as well as by individuals looking for a powerful self-healing technique. EFT is based on the belief that negative emotions are the result of disruptions in the body’s energy system. Tapping on some of the same energy meridians used in Acupuncture balances the body’s energy system, resulting in a calming of negative emotions. Freedom from negative emotions has never been made easier than with this meridian tapping technique.

At the Fort Worth Hypnosis and Wellness Center we use EFT as an adjunct treatment to help facilitate self healing. EFT is an easy and simple modality to learn, and a wonderful companion to the deep healing and relief available through our protocol of hypnosis and Psych-K.

Why is change so hard?

Let's face it many of us have a hard time changing beliefs, habits and behaviors even when we want to change desperately. Most of us attempt to change using our conscious mind. The problem with this type of change is that 95% of what we do is dictated by our subconscious mind. That means when we try to change using our conscious mind we are using the weakest part.
That makes change hard!

The beauty of EFT is that it changes your beliefs at the subconscious level, 
making change much easier!  Making ACTION more enjoyable!!

Something is getting in the way of you having what you say you want!!
Some call it hitting a wall, or the fear of stepping outside of your comfort zone. Whatever “it” is, it’s keeping you from either taking action or taking consistent actions – the kind of actions that will truly change your life and create the life you dream of.

Two Choices When You Hit the Wall

There are two choices when it comes to getting and staying in action – One can either "Muscle Through" or "Remove the Barriers".

1. The Muscle Through Approach

You have more than likely tried this approach on several different occasions because initially it works! Heck, anyone can get themselves to do something once or twice and maybe even for a month or so BUT you won’t sustain those actions and here’s why. The reason it works initially is because you waited until you were experiencing some pain (extra weight, being in debt, poor health) and now taking action is your way of avoiding the potential (either real or imagined) of more pain. But once you’re out of the danger zone you lose the motivation (pain) that was getting you into action. Essentially your actions are dictated by avoiding pain!!

What's wrong with that?

Once you are out of the danger zone you’ve lost your motivation, the driver of your short term behavior. This is why New Year’s resolutions don’t last. We lose this type of motivation very quickly.

2. The Remove the Barriers Approach

Most people have a belief that if they could understand why they procrastinate or why they don't sustain action once they get it started THEN they will free themselves of these damaging patterns and have the success they desire. The problem with this logic is the belief that knowing alone is going to change the behavior.

That doesn't work...

Have you ever done something you shouldn’t even though you know better?! Have you ever eaten something you know will make you feel bad, or spent money you know you didn’t have? Of course you have! Who hasn’t?!

What really works is...

Releasing the pattern at the point of origin – when you remove the barrier, or stuck energy pattern, you allow yourself to have emotional freedom. When you apply the EFT tapping to the charged thoughts that are sustaining the old patterns you release the stuck energy and remove the barriers to achieving your goals.

EFT combines the gentle tapping of acupressure points with the psychological tuning in of the problem. For instance, a person who feels anxious simply focuses on the feeling of the anxiety while tapping on strategic meridian points with their fingers. Incredible as it may seem, within minutes this simple procedure releases energy blocks, and the negative symptoms they cause- in this case the feeling of anxiety! The work is gentle, and results are often permanent.
